The national leader of New Nigeria Initiative for Better Leadership, said the group had just concluded

a tour of Anambra State, adding that it appreciate what Obi had done in terms of infrastructure, health, and other developments in the state.

Izuegbu said: “We just returned from a tour of Anambra State. We have toured all the nook and cranny of Anambra state and we quite appreciate what Governor Peter Obi has done in terms of infrastructure, health and the rest of them.

“So, we are very pleased with his government and we were opportune to meet with the in-coming governor. He is somebody who is together. We interacted with him and we are very sure he is going to improve on what Peter Obi has done. In fact, he is going to double it from the impression he gave and we are calling on Anabrariansto support him.

“And we are also calling on other states of the federation to toll the this kind of transition because with this, it shows that in the whole country, Anambra State’s democracy has advanced,” Izuebgu said.

Asked if he was not afraid that his party, the PDP, would be upset over his commendation of Obi, Izuegbu said PDP members would not be angry because Anambra State is a special case; a test case.

He said it was a known fact from number one to the last number that in Anambra State, party affiliation was not the issue.

According to Izuegbu, “it was now individual, the person. So, that was why the New Nigeria Initiative, we are in support of the PDP. I am a staunch member of the PDP, but we voted the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the last election,” he said.

Izuegbu added that his action was not an anti-party case because of the person in question, adding that they voted for Obiano because they have confidence in him.
