Xolo introduces Q510s – a $105 KitKat droid

Xolo has unveiled the latest member of its smartphone portfolio dubbed Q510s. Coming with a 4” WVGA IPS display and a MediaTek chipset, the handset is hardly going to make flagships shake with fear. However, it’s lowly INR 6,499 ($105) price tag means that it might cause quite the disturbance in the entry level smartphone market.
The CPU of the Xolo 510s is a quad-core Cortex A7 running at 1.3GHz, which should provide enough power for the Android 4.4 KitKat platform. RAM is a decent 1GB and the microSD-expandable internal storage stands at 8GB.
The primary camera of the dual SIM Xolo 510s has a 5MP sensor that can do 1080p video recording and comes with an LED flash for improved low-light performance. There’s also a VGA front-facer on board the pleasantly slim 9mm smartphone.

The battery has the rather small 1,500 mAh capacity, but given the less than demanding hardware it should still provide decent endurance.
The Xolo Q510s is going to be sold only in gold color, although that mostly concerns the metal frame, with the front panel being black and the back coming in white. Actual release date hasn’t been confirmed just yet.
