Microsoft has announced that it will launch a retail store in Australia, making it the first country outside of North America to have a flagship Microsoft store. The store will open in Sydney, and will be located in Westfield Sydney on Pitt Street Mall, which is just a few hundred meters from Apple’s flagship outlet.
“This will be much more than a store. It will embody the world class innovation that you have come to expect from Microsoft and be a space where consumers can visit and learn how to make the most of their technology,” said Microsoft Australia’s managing director Pip Marlow.
The 6,254 square feet store will feature Windows PCs, Surface devices, Windows Phones, Xbox consoles, as well as all of the company’s software products. Although the Redmond, Washington-based company hasn’t revealed the launch date or month, there are reports that it’s planned for late 2015, before the Christmas shopping period.
