As the name indicates, the Lumia 640XL is the bigger of the two siblings. It sports a 5.7” 720 x 1280px IPS LCD display with a density of 259ppi and is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Just like the Lumia 640, this new Microsoft is powered by a 1.2 GHz (Quad-core) Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor along with 1 GB RAM. The 640 XL flaunts a powerful 13MP primary camera and a stellar 5MP front-facing camera. The new Microsoft phone is powered by an Adreno 305 GPU. It comes with 8GB internal memory and is expandable up to 128 GB. This camera however is powered by the renowned Carl Zeiss optics and has features such as LED flash & autofocus. The smartphone is powered by a powerful 3000mAh battery keeping in mind its larger screen. The Lumia 640 XL will be available in the following color variants Matte cyan, Orange, Black, Matte white & Glossy white.

The Lumia 640 will be priced at Rs. 11,999 and the Lumia 640 XL will be priced at Rs. 15,799. Following an industry trend, the lower end of the two – the Lumia 640 will be available exclusively on Flipkart. The Lumia 640 XL on the other hand will be available for purchase all leading channels.

• Microsoft will be offering a one-year free subscription of Microsoft Office 365 and 1TB of OneDrive cloud storage with both the devices.
• Both the new Microsoft phones will run Windows Phone 8.1 with Lumia Denim and are eligible for Windows 10 upgrade when the new OS is available.
• The Lumia Denim is slated to have features such like passive-listening Cortana, Rich Capture, 4K video and more.
• There is 4G LTE version according to Microsoft. However, there is no information about its availability.
