Skype 5.5 for iOS comes with interactive notifications

Skype has just released the latest version of its app for iOS in the iTunes App Store. Thanks to enhancements in iOS 8, Skype 5.5 now features support for interactive notifications.
These allow you to quickly and easily manage calls and messages from the lock screen, banner notifications, as well as the notification center in iOS.

Here’s what you should expect. For an incoming voice call, if you swipe left on the Skype notification on the lock screen or pull down the banner notification you’ll be able to answer or decline instantly. For a video call, the options will be to answer it with voice or video. For missed calls, you get to choose between calling back or sending a message. And when you get messages, you’ll be able to quickly reply by either swiping left on the lock screen notification, or pulling down if you’re dealing with a banner notification (the type that shows up while you’re otherwise using the operating system).
The new version of Skype for iOS also reportedly comes with some unnamed “general improvements”. It works with iOS 7 or later.
